Continental Airlines officials recently were happy to hear of a Federal Communications Commission (FCC) decision that allows the airline to continue to offer free Wi-Fi access through the airline’s selected Wi-Fi carrier in its Presidents Club lounge. Massport (Massachusetts Port Authority), operator of Logan Airport in Boston had banned the use of private Wi-Fi networks, citing security concerns, and then launched its own $8-a-day Wi-Fi service. FCC Commissioner, Michael Copps, in a written statement had this to say: ” Today’s decision ensures that Wi-Fi bands remain free and open to travelers, who can make productive use of their time while waiting to catch their next flight in an airport.” All of Continental’s lounges provide free internet connection. We say, live free and Wi!
