Members of the Wyndham ByRequest program can now opt to earn Membership Rewards from American Express rather than frequent flyer miles. Members should select American Express as their preferred travel partner reward program and enter their card number in their online profiles.
Frontier Airlines has expanded to include new routes to Tulsa and Detroit. Until June 30, EarlyReturns members will receive double miles for travel to and from those destinations.
Continental Airlines has begun codesharing with Air France, allowing Continental customers to more easily access 12 additional destinations in Europe and the Middle East on flights operated by Air France from Charles de Gaulle airport in Paris. Members of OnePass are able to earn and redeem miles on Air France flights. Continental’s BusinessFirst customers and Presidents Club members have access to the Air France lounge in Paris.
Marriott International and Asiana Airlines’ new partnership now allows Marriott Rewards members to earn Asiana Club miles when they stay at Marriott hotels. Asiana Airlines is Marriott Rewards’ 26th airline partner.
Caribbean members of American AAdvantage will be pleased to note that Scotiabank has released an AAdvantage MasterCard in Anguilla, Antigua, Barbados, The Caymans, Dominica, Grenada, the British Virgin Islands, St. Kitts, St. Lucia and St. Vincent. The card earns one mile per dollar spent, and 5,000 bonus miles if used by April 30.
For the third consecutive year, American Airlines has been voted the best frequent flyer program throughout Latin America by readers of Latin Trade Magazine. The report is in Latin Trade’s February 2005 special issue, “The Best of Latin America”.
America West FlightFund has expanded its charitable Miles of Hope program to include a partnership with national non-profit organization Fisher House. America West donated 2.5 million miles to the non-profit, which is dedicated to helping injured military and their families. The subsequent miles donated by America West FlightFund members to Fisher House will be used to reunite families by giving airline tickets to wounded soldiers for a leave or pass from a hospital, or for their families to visit them.
American Airlines is standing by partner Mexicana in the wake of news that Mexican airline holding company Cintra S.A. de C.V. would sell Mexicana de Aviacion, the country’s leading international carrier, and Aeromexico, its top domestic carrier, separately. Peter Dolara, Senior Vice President-Miami, Caribbean and Latin America, said, “Mexicana de Aviacion is a valuable marketing partner for American Airlines and we hope to continue that relationship as its owners move forward with privatization. Our reciprocal codesharing, frequent-flyer participation and lounge access arrangements have been very beneficial to the flying public in Mexico, the United States and other international points.” American and Mexicana began their codesharing and reciprocal frequent flyer program in Spring 2004.
Outrigger Hotels & Resorts has joined Cendant’s TripRewards program as an earning and redemption partner. Members can earn and redeem points for free stays at participating Outrigger locations in Hawaii.
