The Seattle Sheraton has been conducting a pilot program, “Help the Earth–You Tidy, We Treat,” wherein guests can choose to decline daily housekeeping and receive a $5 gift card or 500 Starpoints per day. It has proved very popular and the initiative is set to be rolled out on a much broader basis in 2009, according to the general manager of the Seattle Sheraton. It’s not clear if the offer will always include earning bonus points.
