Hyatt has announced plans for a new Park Hyatt in Auckland, New Zealand to be opened 2017 in a prime waterfront location in Auckland Harbour. The hotel will feature 190 guest rooms, three restaurants and bars, a spa, a 25 meter pool and a fitness center.

The hotel will be part of a development and revitalization project in the surrounding Wynyard Quarter that will add a number of restaurants, entertainment options and art installations to the area.

The Park Hyatt Auckland will mark Hyatt’s return to New Zealand and the first Park Hyatt branded hotel to open in Auckland. Hyatt’s previous property in Auckland, the Hyatt Regency Auckland, was converted to a Pullman property in 2011. This announcement follows the recent openings of the Park Hyatt Vienna in June and the Park Hyatt New York in August. There are currently 16 Park Hyatt hotels in development worldwide.
