Southwest Airlines customers can now book flights to the airline’s first international destinations including nonstop flights between Atlanta and Aruba or Montego Bay, between Baltimore/Washington and Aruba, Nassau or Montego Bay and between Orlando and Aruba (Saturday only) or Montego Bay. These new flights will commence July 1, 2014.
By the end of this year, Southwest will offer additional international destinations when the airline absorbs AirTran Airways flights including Cancun, Los Cabos, Mexico City in Mexico and Punta Cana in Dominican Republic.
A quick search for a Wanna Get Away roundtrip award flight mid-week to mid-week in July between Atlanta and Aruba resulted in a trip total of only 9,240 points and $70 of government taxes and fees.
