Melia Hotels has revamped its loyalty program and changed the name from mas Rewards to MeliaRewards. Members will continue to earn 10 points per dollar or euro spent and all MeliaRewards members receive a free night on their birthday and free Internet access at Gran Melia and Melia hotels. The elite program has three tiers that offer elite bonus points of up to 40 percent. MeliaRewards Silver members (two stays, 5,000 points or five nights) earn a 10 percent point bonus, late 2pm checkout, free bottle of water, 10 percent discount on snacks and breakfast and exclusive special offers.
Gold members (10 stays, 20,000 points or 20 nights) earn a 20 percent point bonus, early 11am check-in and late 4pm checkout, 15 percent discount on snacks and breakfast, welcome gift and 50 percent discount on an upgrade to a superior room.
Platinum members (30 stays, 50,000 points or 50 nights) receive a 40 percent point bonus, 20 percent discount on snacks and breakfast, late 6pm checkout and early 10am check-in and complimentary room upgrades at check-in. Other Platinum benefits that vary by hotel brand include free alcoholic beverages from the minibar, free airport shuttle, hotel lounge access and a bottle of wine.
