Over 38 charities received a minimum of 25,000 miles through United MileagePlus 10 Million Charity Miles Giveaway. United MileagePlus members and members of the public were invited to vote for their favorite charities in December of last year and the organizations that received the most votes received the highest percentage of miles. Shriners Hospitals for Children was a popular choice and received the largest donation of miles through the giveaway. The miles will be used to help provide roundtrip transportation for the young patients, some of whom may be cared for in United hub cities like Houston, Chicago and Los Angeles, to name a few.
