Who needs elite status when you’ve got cash? United has introduced Premier Travel and Premier Travel Plus, two packages customers can purchase offering benefits for a better flying experience. Premier Travel offers two checked bags with no extra charge, Premier Line for quicker access through security and boarding, United Economy Plus seating and 25 percent more miles for your flights. Premier Travel Plus offers all the benefits of Premier Travel but with double bonus miles and access to United’s Red Carpet Clubs. Prices for the packages, available at most U.S. airports served by United, start at $47 and vary depending on where you’re flying. For example, between Washington and New York (Newark), the cost for the Premier Travel option is $47 each way; Premier Travel Plus is $84 each way. Between Chicago and London, the cost is $158 each way for Premier Travel and $285 for Premier Travel Plus. In the fine print it mentions that prices can change without notice. You can buy these options through united.com when booking or when checking in online, and later this year, through EasyCheck-In kiosks. United states, “Mileage Plus Premier members continue to receive many of these valuable benefits at no additional cost. Premier Travel is available for purchase only in limited quantities to ensure that the Premier experience is preserved.”
