Green is in, and the next time you’re deciding where to stay on a hotel award, you might want to consider your green options. InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) recently won the Eco-lodging Award at the China Hotel Investment Summit 2009. One example of an eco-friendly hotel is the InterContinental Bora Bora Resort & Thalasso Spa, which includes the world’s deepest underwater pipeline that feeds cold sea water to an environmentally friendly air conditioning system. You can claim a free night in a two-bedroom family villa at this property for 40,000 points. The villa is nestled in a coconut grove with a garden view and a separate living room. This is just one eco-option for award stays; 200 newly built Holiday Inn hotels globally are said to use 30 percent fewer materials to build and require 20 percent less energy to operate than earlier versions of the hotels.
Other news is that Priority Club Rewards members can also now redeem points for stays at IHG ANA co-branded hotels or ANA Partner hotels. Award nights range from 20,000 to 40,000 points per night throughout Japan.
