IHG Priority Club has published its new list of PointBreaks awards, which are available for 5,000 points per night at select destinations. Non-discounted IHG award nights start at 10,000 points, so members can save at least 50 percent when booking a stay at a PointBreaks destination. Most of the discounted hotels are Holiday Inn and Holiday Inn Express properties, but there are a few gems in the mix, such as a stay at the Hotel Indigo in Scottsdale, Ariz. that is normally available for 25,000 points. International hotels include Crowne Plaza Mexicali-Baja California, Holiday Inn Brussels City Centre and Holiday Inn Lisbon-Continental. The PointBreaks offer and participating hotels can (and do) change at any time, so be sure to make reservations soon. You can view the full list of PointBreaks hotels at www.insideflyer.com/link/?1028
If you don’t have any Priority Club points with which to take advantage of PointBreaks, you can purchase them in increments of 1,000 points for between 1.35 and 1.15 cents per point. While we normally don’t recommend buying points or miles, in this case, Priority Club members can buy an award night for between $67.50 and $57.50 per night, depending on how many points you purchase at one time. In comparison, a paid night at the Lisbon-Continental is around $97 and rates start at $93 for the Hotel Indigo in Scottsdale, so buying points for a PointBreak award at these hotels can save you some cash.
