American Express has introduced new online booking tools for award travel redemption. Called Flight Finder and Room Finder, American Express charge cardmembers can search, transfer and book available air and hotel travel awards from participating airline and hotel partners. Currently, cardmembers can book awards with airline partner AirTran Airways A+ Rewards, Priority Club Rewards and the Hilton HHonors program. Additional travel programs are scheduled to follow.

To redeem award flights or hotel stays, enrolled cardmembers can visit http://www.membershiprewards.com/flightfinder or http://www.membershiprewards.com/roomfinder to begin searching for flight or hotel room availability. Flight Finder or Room Finder will return a list of available options based on the traveler’s search criteria and the travel partner’s available award inventories. Alongside the search results displayed, cardmembers can view the total points needed for booking, their current frequent flyer mileage or frequent guest point balance, and their Membership Rewards point balance. Based on total points available, cardmembers can instantly transfer points needed from their Membership Rewards account to the program needed to finalize the booking. Cardmembers also have the option to pay with Membership Rewards points for online booking or they can link their frequent flyer or guest program account with the Membership Rewards account to directly facilitate point transfers for award redemptions with the travel partner. Cardmembers may also choose to redeem points for travel certificates through the site.
