No hotel group has spent more on re-branding in the past few years than InterContinental Hotels group.
Previously known as Bass Hotels, and then Six Continents until last year, the company keeps adding levels of intrigue to its name.
To complicate the issue, one of the group’s brands is also called Inter-Continental (note the hyphen).
And until recently, that Inter-Continental brand had its own loyalty program, independent of Priority Club, called “Six Continents Club.”
Confused yet?
Wonder no more. As of February, InterContinental (the parent company, not the brand) has renamed and reformed the Six Continents Club.
Enter “InterContinental Ambassador,” a new status within Priority Club Rewards.
InterContinental Ambassador members will continue to receive exclusive privileges, including a complimentary weekend night stay certificate upon enrollment or membership renewal (good at any InterContinental hotel or resort in the world), guaranteed room upgrades, dedicated reservation line and check-in desk, a VIP greeting and welcome gift, fresh fruit and mineral water in room upon arrival, late checkout and one free pay-per-view movie per stay.
In addition, Ambassador members will also receive immediate Elite status, and 2,000 Priority Club points or 500 airline miles per stay.
