American Airlines has announced it will enter into a new codesharing partnership with Mexican carrier Mexicana in April.

For American, the agreement will mean new flight availability to 21 additional cities in Mexico and the ability to offer service in 27 new, nonstop trans-border markets. The relationship also includes a reciprocal frequent flyer agreement that will allow passengers to accrue and redeem miles in American’s AAdvantage program or Mexicana’s Frecuenta program on more than 500 U.S.-Mexico flights per week.
