Since its humble, three-plane beginnings in 1993, Jet Airways has grown to dominate a full 48 percent of the Indian domestic airline market.
Jet’s frequent flyer program, Jet Privilege, was launched just a year into the airline’s existence, and underwent significant re-packaging in December of 1999.
Jet Privilege was also the first domestic frequent flyer program in India to launch a three-tiered eilte-level program (Blue, Silver and Gold).
Despite being a domestic airline, reciprocal programme partnerships with international airlines British Airways, KLM Royal Dutch and Northwest give members global access.
Another Jet first was the co-branded credit card with Citibank launched in September 2000 — India’s first domestic airline co-branded credit card.
Since the relaunch in December 1999, the programme has seen a significant growth in total membership, with the current member base standing at over 300,000.
The benefits offered to a JP member include membership level bonuses, access to Club Premiere lounges at airports, tele check-in, extra baggage allowance over and above normal allowance, guaranteed reservations up to 24 hours before departure and check-in at Club Premiere desks and access to KLM Lounges worldwide for the premium tier levels. Full-fledged dedicated service centres handle redemption enquiries or any other related service.
