US Airways is hoping to ride its new relationship with United straight into the Star Alliance, according to Amy Kudwa, a spokeswoman for the Arlington, Va.-based airline.

Kudwa told Cristopher Davis of American City Business Journals that once the carrier emerges from bankruptcy, the 14-member Star alliance board of directors will vote on admitting US Airways, paving the way for a 2004 admission.
