In our last issue, we reported that Northwest WorldPerks had offered to extend the elite status of deployed military personnel for another year in view of recent world events. We were hoping the other airline would follow suit.

As we go to press, none has, with the notable exception of Alaska.

Mileage Plan MVP and MVP Gold members who are in the military reserves or National Guard and are called to extended active duty, and active duty military who have received deployment orders, can have their 2003 status extended through 2004.

To receive the extension, Mileage Plan members should fax a copy of their activation/mobilization or deployment notices, along with their Mileage Plan number, to the attention of “Military Extension” at (206) 433-3477.
