A small story on the news.com.au Web site recently caught our attention. A 30-year-old man was arrested by Sydney police and charged with 56 counts of obtaining benefit by deception for allegedly having fraudulently redeemed $456,000 in air fares through a frequent flyer scheme. Officers said the charges stem from the redemption of points from 28 fraudulent accounts, which enabled 258 international and domestic flights.
While we’ve seen plenty of these types of schemes through the years, we’ve nonetheless decided to follow the case as it comes to trial ‘Down Under’ and will give you the verdict and maybe some advice on what not to be doing with your (actually someone else’s) miles.
