Redeeming miles or points for a ride on the Concorde is an award to which many frequent flyers aspire. With the resumption of service of this super-sonic jet, these awards will soon be available.
The Air France Frequence Plus program will reinstate the Concorde award when the Concorde service resumes on Nov. 7. The award levels remain the same:
160,000 miles for a roundtrip “Mini-Mile” award booked in the capacity controlled O class;
360,000 miles for a roundtrip “Opti-Mile” award booked from normal stock R class without capacity controls.
British Airways Executive Club has also reinstated its Concorde awards, including the popular award that allows travelers to upgrade from first class on a regular British Airways flight to a Concorde flight to London for 40,000 miles, then enjoy onward travel in business class.
Actual award flights between New York City and London are also now available for redemption:
95,000 miles = one Concorde ticket (return in coach);
110,000 miles = one Concorde ticket (return in business).
Marriott Rewards also offered a Concorde award before the plane was grounded, but the program has yet to resume the award. Executives will likely see how things go with the service before adding it back in. But we understand that they are at least monitoring the situation.
