As of April 1, 2014, American Airlines and JetBlue have terminated their partnership, both in terms of interlining and reciprocal frequent flyer benefits. Implemented in 2010, the frequent flyer partnership allowed customers to earn miles on some of the other carrier’s flights out of Boston and New York’s JFK. The agreement also allowed the airlines to transfer connecting passengers to each other’s flights.

Now, it will no longer be possible to earn TrueBlue points for eligible American Airlines international flights, and vice versa. Any AAdvantage miles or TrueBlue points already earned are not affected by the changes.

Bottom line: According to American Airlines, the merger with US Airways allows greater connectivity and customer benefits, so there is no longer a need to increase network coverage through the agreement with JetBlue.
