As of March 1, 2014, Amtrak travelers with reserved coach and Acela Express business class reservations must cancel their reservation at least 24 hours prior to the train’s departure in order to be eligible for a full refund. If the reservation is cancelled within 24 hours of the scheduled departure, a refund fee will apply (Value fare tickets only; Saver fare tickets are non-refundable). The refund fee is 10 percent of the total amount refunded, with a minimum of $5 and a maximum amount of $100 per refund transaction.
