Through Dec. 31, 2012, Aeroplan members can earn bonus miles when traveling on Air Canada to and from select airports. When you take off or land at an eligible airport in North America, you can earn 500 bonus miles. If you take off or land at an eligible overseas airport, you can earn 1,500 bonus miles. If both departing and arriving airports are eligible, you can earn two bonuses. You must register for the promotion but there is no limit on how many bonuses you can earn during the promotion. Visit http://www.aeroplan.com to see a full list of eligible airports and to register.
Bottom line: Let’s say a flyer is taking off from one of the participating airports in North America and landing in another participating airport in North America for a roundtrip flight. They would get a total of 2,000 bonus miles. And if you departed from North America to an international destination, you can get 4,000 miles for a roundtrip flight if both your departure and arrival destinations are participating in the promotion. Any flight connections that include participating airports would add to that 4,000 bonus miles.
