IHG Priority Club Rewards’ “Biggest Free Nights Offer” from 2009 was the most successful promotion ever for the program according to Eric Pearson, chief marketing officer for the Americas division of InterContinental Hotels Group as reported in Forbes.com. IHG saw a 350 percent increase in Priority Club enrollments from what they normally see for a program promotion and a 35 percent increase in participation and engagement from customers the program doesn’t normally see participating in promotions, which helped to increase IHG’s incremental revenue. As you might recall, Priority Club members could earn one free night for every two nights stayed during the promotion.
