American Airlines has unveiled a “new, faster and easier way to purchase travel” via AA.com according to a recent press release by the airline. Customers will begin seeing the improvements this summer with additional enhancements coming in following months. You can preview the changes at www.aa.com/book. When you search for flights, you will see a results display that will show you a range of schedule and price possibilities for the departure and return portions of a roundtrip, which can be chosen independently (if you are familiar with Southwest’s Web site, you are familiar with the concept). The display will enable customers to see how their choices of flight times and class of service affect the cost of the flight. Frequent flyers will appreciate the ability to see additional flight details, such as the AAdvantage miles they will earn as well as travel time, seat maps, aircraft type and meal availability. Also coming this summer, American Airlines Vacations will unveil a new AAVacations.com Web site, allowing customers to choose among individual vacation elements to design trips customized to fit their wants and budgets. AA.com has an ongoing bonus mile offer when booking flights online: 500 miles per roundtrip coach class ticket and 1,000 miles for first or business class tickets. More than 1.2 million unique visitors access AA.com daily.
