American Airlines has extended its buyAAmiles, giftAAmiles and shareAAmiles programs. The programs, originally scheduled to end on July 31, have been extended for an additional six months to January 31, 2005.

Through these programs, AAdvantage members can reach their own target award levels more quickly or help others by giving or sharing miles with friends or family.

“These programs are very popular with AAdvantage members, so we’re extending them to give customers more choices,” said Kurt Stache, president of AAdvantage marketing programs.

A single account may receive a maximum of 15,000 extra miles per calendar year, and may transfer out a maximum of 60,000 miles per calendar year (to four separate accounts). Each transaction incurs a US$25 processing fee.
