American Express Bank of Canada has announced that Aeroplan has joined Membership Rewards as its newest points transfer partner. Effective immediately, American Express corporate and consumer charge cardmembers enrolled in Membership Rewards are able to transfer their points into Aeroplan miles on a one-for-one basis.

The move, while welcome, is not all that surprising, given that American Express recently paid a huge sum for the right to market a co-branded Aeroplan card.
