American Airlines is expanding its buyAAmiles and giftAAmiles programs to AAdvantage members worldwide. Previously, only AAdvantage members in the United States and Canada could purchase frequent flyer miles online for themselves, friends and family members through the two programs. Under the buyAAmiles program, AAdvantage members may purchase up to 15,000 miles per calendar year. The giftAAmiles program lets AAdvantage members purchase up to 15,000 AAdvantage miles a year to give as a gift, and the miles are in addition to the miles a member may purchase through the buyAAmiles program.

In other AAdvantage news, buy an American Airlines or American Eagle ticket online at http://www.aa.com and 2,000 miles are yours. All travel must be completed by Sept. 30. If you have already bought a ticket online you will continue to earn 1,000 AAdvantage miles for each subsequent ticket bought.
