Amtrak recently introduced an online community site for train lovers. The Whistle Stop is a new feature on Amtrak’s Web site that allows people to connect with other train aficionados and share stories and experiences. You can read travelogues, post stories of your own rail adventures, view pictures and find an assortment of interesting facts and trivia about trains. There is also an Environmental Engineer with a green leaf icon that indicates where you can find information on becoming environmentally conscious and green savvy. Amtrak is looking for assistance in naming the Whistle Stop environmental engineer and you can submit suggested names at the Web site. The winner will be featured on the site.
