Kimpton Hotels recently relaunched its loyalty program and InTouch has a new name, Kimpton Karma. Previous InTouch members will find their account has been automatically transferred and any existing stay credits or free night awards have been transferred to their new Kimpton Karma account.
The Kimpton Karma program has two new elite levels and renamed membership levels including Tier 1 (all members), Tier 2 (three stays or 10 nights), Tier 3 (seven stays or 20 nights) and Inner Circle (14 stays or 40 nights–this is down from the previous 15 stays or 45 nights).
When enrolling in the program all members will continue to receive a $10 Raid the Bar credit (or Raid the Mini-Bar if there is no bar in the hotel) and free WiFi. Tier 2 members will receive additional benefits including a $30 spa credit and a one-time complimentary one-category upgrade based upon availability. Tier 3 members will get all of the Tier 1 and 2 benefits and two complimentary one-category upgrades, a one-time priority late checkout request, a one-time welcome amenity and a Chef’s Taste when you dine at Kimpton restaurants (a special seasonal treat that is up to the discretion of each restaurant and chef–let the restaurant know of your Tier 3 or Inner Circle status).
Members achieve Inner Circle status with slightly fewer stays than in the past and now enjoy greater availability for award night stays. Inner Circle members receive all the benefits of the other tiers, plus a custom welcome amenity each visit, upgrades when available, newspaper delivered to your door, a complimentary night at new hotels with a $50 dining credit during that visit, a dedicated reservation line, exclusive direct access to Kimpton’s CEO and VIP reservations at Kimpton restaurants.
Bottom line: Under the new terms and conditions, suites are excluded from complimentary upgrades. But individual hotels still have the ability to grant upgrades to suites at their discretion. Members will continue to earn one free night award after seven stays or 20 nights and you must stay at least once every 24 months to keep your account active.
