Aeroplan Distinction Members now have access to “once-in-a-lifetime” awards through a new auction website at http://www.aeroplan.com/dExclusives

Aeroplan says the site is a Canadian loyalty first and the auction items are handpicked with Aeroplan members interests in mind and will offer “everything from access to professional sporting events, tickets to sold-out concerts and once-in-a-lifetime trips that are curated to offer some of the highest quality products and some of the most in demand experiences from around the world.”

Some of the items up for bid when we visited the site included a trip to world soccer championships in Brazil, a concert and meet-up with the Neon Trees in Toronto and a customized Epiphone guitar autographed by Nickelback (which had an impressive bid of 150,500 miles with days to go before the auction ended).

Auction categories include Escapes, In The City and Money Can’t Buy and are based on research of Aeroplan members’ interests. Along with the award auctions, Distinction members will also sometimes have the opportunity to bid on “Redeem Now” awards in limited quantities at a fixed amount of miles. New awards will be added on a regular basis.

Distinction is the new tiered recognition program that rewards top Aeroplan members based on total Aeroplan miles earned across all coalition partners including airline, travel, retail and credit card partners.
