Passengers of American Airlines can now choose to have their boarding pass sent to a mobile phone or smartphone at four additional airports, bringing the total number of airports that allow mobile boarding to 42. American Airlines customers flying from London Heathrow, Colorado Springs, San Jose and Washington Reagan can now opt to receive their boarding pass electronically on their Internet-enabled mobile device when checking in online at aa.com. The mobile boarding pass contains a barcode that can be scanned at security and the gate and at self-service machines or ticket counters if you are checking bags.
The electronic boarding pass option can only be used when one person is listed in the reservation on American or American Eagle flights to a U.S. destination.
