Bye Bye Brussels Privilege

Bye Bye Brussels Privilege

Lufthansa and Brussels Airlines are working to establish a partnership and the two airlines are waiting for approval by the European Commission to finalize the agreement. If the European Commission approves the arrangement, Brussels Airlines will be joining the Miles & More program and effective Oct. 25, 2009, Brussels Airlines Privilege will cease to exist. Brussels Privilege members will need to go to http://www.privilege.brusselsairlines.com/migrate to make sure their miles get converted into the Miles & More program. Do nothing and you could lose all of your miles.

If you decide to join Miles & More before July 31, 2009, all of your Privilege miles will be transferred to Miles & More on Oct. 25, 2009 and will be valid for three years. And if you are an elite member, your elite status will also be converted to the corresponding Miles & More elite tier. Even if you are already a Miles & More member, be sure to register on the Web site to check your Privilege account details and make sure all of your miles will be credited to your Miles & More account.

If you wait and do not enroll in Miles & More by July 31, 2009, your Privilege account will be closed on Oct. 24, 2009, and all of your Privilege miles will be forfeited. Your outstanding mileage balance will not be converted into Miles & More miles. For members who carry the Brussels Airlines AMEX and choose to join Miles & More, the miles earned with the card will be credited to your Miles & More account.
