Air New Zealand has announced that from March 30, 2008, its budget airline, Freedom Air, will cease operations as part of Air New Zealand’s revamp of its pacific and trans-Tasman routes. Air New Zealand will fly the Tasman routes vacated by Freedom Air. Customers on these routes will be able to earn Air New Zealand Airpoints Dollars, something that was formerly not offered.
