Singapore: KrisFlyer Racks Up New Partners

Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer has partnered with one of Singapore’s top local banks, OCBC Bank, to offer its customers more accrual and redemption options.

Through the partnership, OCBC Bank Platinum and Titanium credit card holders in Singapore can convert their OCBC points accrued on their credit cards to KrisFlyer miles. These can be redeemed for free flights on Singapore Airlines, its regional carrier, SilkAir, and other partner airlines. Members can also use the KrisFlyer miles to redeem upgrades to First or Business Class on Singapore Airlines, Business Class on SilkAir, and companion tickets on both carriers.

In Singapore, KrisFlyer partnered with Singapore’s telecommunications provider, M1, and Shell Petroleum to offer M1 customers and Shell Escape Rewards members the option of converting their points to KrisFlyer miles.

In China, KrisFlyer collaborated with Citibank-Shanghai Pudong Development Bank to allow its credit card holders to convert their points to frequent flyer miles.

Similarly in India, KrisFlyer partnered with ICICI Bank, one of the largest banks in the country, to provide ICICI Bank Gold American Express Card holders KrisFlyer miles as a reward option.

The partnership with ABN Amro in Singapore was also extended to include cardholders in Hong Kong.

Counting these new partners, KrisFlyer has over 90 global partners, ranging from airlines, hotels, banks, a travel agency, telecommunications providers to credit card companies and an insurance company.
