Just a quick reminder to AAdvantage members: it’s that time of year when AAdvantage offers some of their best MileSAAver economy-class off-peak travel awards to destinations around the world.
Through Nov. 14, members can travel between the U.S., the Bahamas, Bermuda, Canada, the Caribbean and Mexico in economy class for 25,000 miles (normally 30,000 miles). Or travel from North America to Central America, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru or Venezuela for 30,000 miles (normally 35,000 miles).
Odds are fairly slim that you’ll be able to snag an off-peak award to any of these destinations prior to Nov. 14, so make a mental note of two things. First, off-peak MileSAAver award travel to Central America and surrounding countries will begin again on Jan. 16, 2005, and goes through June 14. Secondly, if the 25,000-mile award level for roundtrip travel in economy class to the Caribbean, the Bahamas, Bermuda, Canada or Mexico is what you want, you can book it any time by combing the miles and $125.
It may not be the best time of year to find off-peak award travel to some parts of the world, but for Europe and Japan, the time is now. AAdvantage members can book MileSAAver economy-class award travel from North America to Europe for 40,000 miles (normally 60,000 miles), and travel from North America to Japan is 50,000 miles (normally 65,000 miles). The off-peak MileSAAver award travel period to Europe ends on May 15; to Japan, April 30.
