Alliance-Wide Charts Beginning Feb. 1, 2002, Star Alliance members will be able to redeem awards using their respective Star Alliance-wide award charts. Some airlines already have their charts in circulation. The charts will be individual to each airline.

Awards from pre-existing award charts for Star Alliance airlines can be used through Jan. 31, 2002. We have yet to get our hands on the new award chart, so we can’t tell you which awards will increase and which will decrease, but it will be interesting to see how the round-the-world award options are affected.

More Star Alliance news: Lauda Air and Tyrolean Airways flights now appear under the Austrian Airlines indicator OS.

For example, codeshare flights between Bangkok and Vienna are still operated by Lauda Air, but will be designated as OS or TG.
