Registration for the SPG Triple Up promotion is now open as of today, Tuesday, May 3, 2016 in which the only limit of bonus Starpoints you can earn is on stays of two or more nights during the period of time between Monday, May 9, 2016 through Sunday, July 31, 2016 with any or all of these three offers:
- Triple Starpoints at Sheraton hotel and resort properties
- Double Starpoints at all other brands
- An extra 1,000 Starpoints for eligible stays which include a Friday or Saturday night — or a Thursday or Friday night if staying at a hotel and resort property located in the Middle East
Register Today For Starwood Preferred Guest Triple Up Promotion
As Melinda Danielsen first reported here at InsideFlyer on April 15, 2016…
…in order to participate in the Triple Up promotion, you must:
- Be a member of the Starwood Preferred Guest frequent guest loyalty program
- Register for this promotion by 11:59 in the evening Eastern Daylight Time on Sunday, July 17, 2016; and
- Stay at a hotel or resort property which is participating in this promotion in accordance with the three aforementioned offers — and this list is subject to change
Double Starpoints will earn an additional two Starpoints per eligible dollar spent on eligible stays, for a total of four Starpoints per dollar spent; and triple Starpoints will earn an additional four Starpoints per eligible dollar spent on eligible stays, for a total of six Starpoints per dollar spent. Elite-level extra Starpoints earnings and other bonuses will not be doubled or tripled, as only the base two-Starpoints-per-dollar earnings are doubled or tripled.
Terms and Conditions
These offers operate concurrently with other Starpoints promotions; however, each offer will award bonus Starpoints independently of each other.
An eligible stay is defined as two or more consecutive nights paying an eligible rate in the same hotel or resort property — regardless of the number of times you check in or check out — and posting to your Starwood Preferred Guest account. An eligible night is defined as at least one night paying an eligible rate during the promotion period; and an eligible rate is any rate which is eligible to earn Starpoints in the Starwood Preferred Guest program — both as defined under Section 2.1 of the terms and conditions of the Starwood Preferred Guest frequent guest loyalty program.
Note that certain prepaid room reservations — such as when the reservation is booked through a third party, including but not limited to travelocity.com, expedia.com, orbitz.com and delta.com — are not considered eligible rates and do not earn Starpoints or qualify for promotional earnings. Stays must be booked through any Starpoints-eligible channel — which includes a travel professional who books through those channels — or the global distribution system.
Members of InsideFlyer discuss and respond to the information originally posted by InsideFlyer member and official company representative SPG Champion — also known as William R. Sanders, who is the social media specialist of Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide.
“Since the current SPG promo ends April 30th and the new one starts May 9th my stays will go to Hyatt which has a great promo till June 30th”, posted InsideFlyer member Thomask. “SPG has been doing this for years. Always leave a long gap between promos. It is good for us that collect in several programs.”
As there is no cost to you — other than a minute or two of your time — there is no reason why you should not register for this promotion in case you are a member of the Starwood Preferred Guest program who might stay at a participating hotel or resort property during the promotion period.
