US Airways has announced it will be using new technology that will automatically check for upgrades multiple times per day. The airline will also email your upgrade status to you and if you didn’t get upgraded, will inform you why not. US Airways will also assign upgrade seats according to your seat preference (window or aisle). The upgrade order itself isn’t changing, and Chairman’s members will continue to be eligible to receive upgrades seven days prior to departure, Platinum members are eligible four days prior to departure, Golds are eligible three days prior and Silver, two days prior to departure.
