Frequent Traveler Survey

Frequent Traveler Survey

Loylogic, a technology provider for loyalty programs, recently conducted a survey of over 36,000 frequent travelers representing 140 loyalty programs worldwide. The survey indicates that the Internet is the preferred medium for travelers (58 percent) to earn and redeem points or check loyalty program balances, followed by mobile devices (20 percent), in-store (11 percent), SMS (four percent) and Facebook (three percent).

Of those surveyed, 43 percent said that travel was their preferred award category, followed by merchandise (26 percent) and experiences (10 percent). The travelers indicated that it was either very important (41 percent) or nice to have (45 percent) the ability to earn miles or points with online merchants. Most travelers (75 percent) are satisfied that they can spend their miles or points on what they want, when they want, while 22 percent say they would like more redemption options. Only three percent said they can never use their points or miles on award options that appeal to them.
