Placely is a new travel-planning social network which has added a way for members of frequent flyer programs to keep track of their accounts in one place. The service is free when signing up with Placely. Currently, the service supports the FFP accounts of the following airlines: Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, Continental Airlines, Delta Air Lines, Frontier Airlines, Hawaiian Airlines, JetBlue, Midwest Airlines, Northwest Airlines, Southwest Airlines, United Airlines, US Airways and Virgin America.

From the Placely home page, you simply click a link to add your frequent flyer programs to track. You then input your log in and password for each account you want to keep an eye on. You will be able to see the mileage balance of all of your accounts on one page. Another feature is that when you make flight reservations on any of the airlines you’re tracking, the reservations will automatically be pulled into a personal travel calendar on Placely that you can share with friends and colleagues.

Placely, based in Los Angeles, was founded in 2007 by travelers who wanted to create an “experience tool” for travelers to keep in touch and share travel experiences. The site features travel experiences written by fellow travelers where you can also upload photos, a forum to converse, a personal travel calendar and a feature for members to create groups. Currently, there are groups for flight attendants and one called “Mammoth Madness” — a private group of travelers keeping in touch about an upcoming trip, among others.
