DeltaAirElite Business Jets is allowing its charter customers a chance to earn triple miles in their Delta SkyMiles accounts for charter flights taken through the end of the year.
During this special offer, customers will be awarded three flight segments toward Medallion status for every $2,500 in Delta AirElite flight charges.
Earning such status allows Delta AirElite customers complimentary upgrades on Delta scheduled service, priority boarding, preferred seating, Crown Room Club discounts and priority waitlist status.
At a time when free upgrades are so hard to come by, this is good news for frustrated frequent flyers are have been befuddled with airlines eliminating many of their elite-level promises. It can also be a boon for the financially struggling No. 3 airline, after one of the worst downturns the U.S. airline industry has ever seen. Delta is literally throwing miles to its Eastern seaboard customers as an attempt to keep them from switching to airline behemoth American, which recently launched scaled-down flights for shuttle service between New York’s LaGuardia airport, Washington’s Reagan National and Boston.
The downside to this promotion is that there is a limit of crediting one account per charter. So get your ducks in order and figure out what passenger or individual will be earning triple miles on his or her way to Medallion status.
