The Gold Delta SkyMiles credit card no longer comes with a $99 annual companion ticket as a cardholder perk when you renew the card. The companion ticket was discontinued as of Jan. 15, 2013. Previously, cardholders who booked an economy ticket in a L, U or T fare for flights within the 48 U.S. could book a ticket for a companion for $99, plus taxes and fees. The Platinum Delta SkyMiles card ($150 annual fee) and the Delta Reserve card ($450 annual fee) both continue to offer companion tickets for only the cost of the taxes and fees of the second ticket. The companion ticket with the Delta Reserve card is valid on economy (L, T, U) and first (A, I) class flights whereas the Platinum companion ticket can only be used for a roundtrip economy class (L, T, U) companion ticket.
