American AAdvantage is once again offering elite members who did not re-qualify for elite the chance to buy back your elite status and extend your status through February 2013. AAdvantage Platinum members who earned at least 40,000 elite qualifying miles/points or 48 qualifying segments in 2011 can keep their elite status for a one-time fee of $619; if you earned less than these amounts, you can buy back your status for $769.

AAdvantage Gold members who earned at least 20,000 elite qualifying miles/points or 24 qualifying segments in 2011 can keep their elite status for a one-time fee of $409; if you earned less than these amounts, you can buy back your status for $559. To participate in this offer, you must be a current AAdvantage member with Gold or Platinum status and have flown at least two elite qualifying segments in 2011.
