Delta Economy Comfort

Delta Economy Comfort

Delta Air Lines is introducing its Economy Comfort section on domestic flights starting in the summer of 2012. The airline will be installing Economy Comfort seats on all of Delta’s mainline fleet of over 550 aircraft and over 250 two-class regional jets. Travelers who book economy class Y, B or M fares will receive complimentary upgrades to Economy Comfort seats. All other coach travelers can purchase an Economy Plus seat for an additional $19-$99 per segment. SkyMiles Diamond, Platinum and Gold Medallion members will receive complimentary access to Economy Comfort seats when making reservations and Silver Medallions can book these seats when making reservations at a 50 percent discount or may receive complimentary access at flight check-in.

Economy Comfort seats will be located in the first three to five rows of the coach cabin and will offer up to four inches of extra legroom and priority boarding. The standard seat pitch in coach is 31 inches and the new seats will have a seat pitch of 34 inches or more. Delta launched Economy Comfort on long-haul international flights earlier this year.
