Following successful trials, SAS plans to launch an SAS Smart Pass in the fall, which will enable EuroBonus Gold members to breeze through airports in Scandinavia. The new pass is a NFC (near field communication) sticker that is placed on the back of a mobile phone and acts as a wireless transmitter. It can be used to hold personal data and can communicate at participating NFC-enabled stores at the airport–EuroBonus members can simply swipe the pass over a reader to purchase items.

They can also use the pass at self-service check-in kiosks, airport lounges and to fast-track through security. Airport gates will also have NFC readers.
