Guests at five Joie de Vivre hotels in Southern California can show off their singing talents in exchange for a room upgrade. Shorebreak Hotel in Huntington Beach, Pacific Edge Hotel on Laguna Beach, Hotel Erwin in Venice Beach and Hotel Angeleno in Los Angeles will be giving away one free upgrade per day through Sept. 30, 2011. Musical guests can choose to sing at check-in, choosing from songs such as “California Gurls” by Katy Perry to “Hotel California” by The Eagles. The first guest to sing that day will receive the upgrade, so you don’t even need to sing well to enjoy a nicer room. The performance will be recorded and uploaded to YouTube and Facebook for voting and the singer with the most number of votes will win a two-night stay at any Joie de Vivre Southern California hotel. Guests who arrive later in the day after the upgrade has been given away can still enter the video contest for a chance to win the grand prize.
