Elite Status for Corporate VIPs

Elite Status for Corporate VIPs

Corporate travel managers are reporting that airlines are tightening up on granting elite status as part of corporate travel negotiations. The general consensus is that the airlines do not want the corporate flyers to be exempt from the various fees that the airlines collect from everyone who is not elite. On the other side, corporations are bargaining for elite status for their members to save money. According to a recent article in http://www.management.travel – Lockheed Martin said that ancillary purchases, mostly for bag fees, represented about 1.6 percent of the company’s annual U.S. domestic air spend, or about $4.5 million, so there’s a lot of money that can be saved if their travelers are elite members.
