WiFi Over Canada

Canadians should finally get in-flight WiFi access on Canadian domestic flights by the middle of 2011. SkySurf Canada Communications has the license for in-flight data technology in Canada and will work with Aircell to provide the service to Air Canada flyers.

Aircell provides Gogo in-flight WiFi service in the U.S. The service will be provided on the ground with cellular towers. Air Canada currently offers WiFi on flights between Toronto or Montreal and Los Angeles when over the U.S. The cost is US$9.95 for a laptop connection and US$7.95 for a handheld device.
