SPG has announced yet another new cardmember benefit of the Starwood Preferred Guest credit card from American Express. Last month, U.S. cardmembers received a two-stay credit to their SPG account, in addition to the five-night credit that was introduced in July. The two-stay credit will help those members who qualify for elite status by number of stays reach or requalify for elite status more quickly. All active cardmembers received the two-stay and five-night credit on Oct. 14 and the credit will count toward status in 2010. Going forward, the credit will post in mid-February and count toward status in that year. A cardmember who has both a consumer and a business SPG AMEX will receive a credit of 10 nights and four stays.
