Wyndham Rewards is taking a slightly different take on their latest promotion by pairing one of their hotel brands with an airline/rail partner for double miles through the end of the year. Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, Wingate by Wyndham and Hawthorn Suites by Wyndham stays will earn double miles in the loyalty programs of American, Amtrak and Sun Country. Ramada stays will earn double miles in Delta, Baymont in Continental, Days Inn in Southwest, Super 8 in United, Howard Johnson in US Airways, Microtel in Midwest and Travelodge stays will earn double miles in the Spirit Airlines program. Members of Aeroplan and the loyalty program of Aeromexico can get double miles at all brands during the same promotional period of Oct. 1 through Dec. 31, 2010. The Knights Inn brand is not offering double miles, but rather a stay twice to get a 20 percent discount for AirTran members.

Bottom line: With all the hotel promotions out there these days, this one might get lost in the shuffle, but customers will have several months to enjoy double miles, as long as they stay in the hotel brand(s) associated with their airline/rail loyalty program and make sure that their profile reflects miles for their stays instead of Wyndham Rewards points.
