US Airways has resurrected their Grand Slam bonus promotion. Promotion participants can earn up to 100,000 miles for “hits” that they accumulate between Sept. 1 and Nov. 14, 2010. Qualifying activity for hits includes car rental (maximum six hits), hotel stays (maximum six hits), hotel points transfer (maximum one hit), using US Airways’ Shopping Mall (maximum one hit, no minimum spend) and you’ll earn one hit for the use of any other partner.

What’s different this year from previous years is that members will have the opportunity to earn more qualifying miles. When you accumulate 12 hits, you’ll not only have accumulated 14,000 bonus miles, but 3,000 of those miles will be considered Preferred-qualifying miles and if you accumulate 16 hits, you’ll not only get 20,000 miles, but another 3,000 of those miles will be Preferred qualifying. Bonus miles are awarded after every four hits and the bonuses start at four hits for 3,000 miles and accumulate up to 100,000 miles with 36 hits.
